Frequently asked questions
How do procurement technology vendors and service providers benefit from the Solution Intelligence program?
Technology and service providers gain insight about their relative strength and market position that helps them make sound investment decisions, develop relevant product and go-to-market strategies, and strengthen marketing and sales capabilities. Our Solution Intelligence also provides exposure to sourcing, procurement, and supply chain executives at the time they are developing shortlists of the best procurement vendors for their needs and operations.
How does the Solution Intelligence team gather information for vendor comparisons?
We gather information through technology demos, the SolutionMap RFI process that is part of our ongoing research program, and continuous market updates and insights. Our analysts work with the participating technology and service providers at different levels – however, always maintaining an objective, product-independent perspective. Our analysts review solutions in collaboration with the participating vendors via a standard, transparent, demo-based validation and scoring process.
Which vendors of procurement software can participate in the annual research process?
To ensure comprehensive market coverage, every relevant vendor can participate. Our analysts conduct a mini assessment to ensure a fit with the SolutionMap process. If there is not a fit but the provider’s offering is considered relevant to the market, the vendor may receive alternative coverage – for example, inclusion in a blog post, vendor analysis article or market report. There is no cost to participate in SolutionMap or to receive vendor coverage.
What is the Solution Intelligence membership program?
The membership program provides tailored content and insight that helps technology and service providers enhance their marketing and sales efforts, and develop effective product and go-to-market strategies. Technology vendors and service providers can opt to participate at different membership levels. Membership is separate from and independent of the Solution Intelligence team’s annual research and product/vendor coverage.
Does a procurement technology or service provider have to become a member to benefit from the program?
No. Technology vendors and service providers that are not members of our program can avail themselves of free resources such as a selection of our sourcing and procurement research.
Who uses the Solution Intelligence rankings, and how do they access them?
Sourcing, procurement, and supply chain executives and their teams use SolutionMap vendor comparisons, analyses, and insights to make informed and relevant investment decisions about the best procurement vendors and top supply chain software solutions for their needs. Executives have access to Solution Intelligence as members of The Hackett Group’s Applied Intelligence programs.
How is the Solution Intelligence SolutionMap program superior to other vendor comparisons or ratings?
Our approach employs a data-backed process built on more than 20 years of deep market experience. It incorporates hundreds of solution-specific RFI functionality and capability inputs, as well as validated customer feedback, to ensure both internal and external perspectives/analyses of the offering.
